Guys Only! After School Program
A Good Idea
Description
GO! is a voluntary after school program for young men ages 12-14 that addresses the issue of teen pregnancy prevention in Frederick County. Groups meet twice a week for 8-10 weeks and are led by a trained facilitator. Using the evaluated curriculum "Making A Difference!," sessions are highly interactive with educational games and videos. Group discussion and active role-play help engage young men in dialogue about responsible decision making, peer pressure, sexual pressures, media influences, and drugs and alcohol. Other activities include numerous field trips to various recreational sites and participation in community service projects.
